I've Been Away
Mum woke me up at half past 9, she said the bus was leaving in an hour. I wanted to lay down again but the phone rang. Mum picked it up and yelled it was my friend.
Half asleep, I went downstairs and said 'hello' in a hoarse voice. My friend called me up and asked me if we had to study something in the history book or only the notes we had taken. I said I didn't know and I didn't want to go upstairs to get my history book. She asked me what I would do. I said I would just take a look at the pages in the book and learn the notes. She agreed, and said goodbye. I was like, 'It's half past 9, stop bothering me with your f**king homework'.
Still half asleep, I stumbled to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, and poured myself a glass of apple juice. Sat down in the living room and ate something. Then, I went upstairs and put the radio on. I was brushing my teeth while "I Want to Break Free" by Queen was playing on the radio.
My mum and I took the bus to Aalst at 10:37 AM. I needed to return a book to the library and it was the opening day (? How do you call it????) of a school. I returned "The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole" to the library. Then, I bought 'fimo' in a craft shop. 'Fimo' is sort of like clay. I have to use it in art class next Tuesday. Just google 'fimo' if you don't know what it is.
I searched for "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" in some book stores but they didn't have it. I needed it for my English book review. So, my mum thought we should go to Ghent. There's a large store with books, DVDs, multimedia and other stuff in Ghent; it's called 'Fnac'. So, we went by train.
I also bought lip balm in Ghent. I was surprised that the price tag wasn't the price I had to pay. It was even cheaper. So, I guess this is just one of my lucky days.
I also went to a shop where they sell sheet music. I didn't buy anything.
